Instead, Carrey had a more relatable reason to go back to work.

Since 2016, the only movies that Carrey has been in are the three Sonic films.
The producers behind Sonic the Hedgehog also indicated thatthey would not have recast Robotnikif Carrey had declined to return.
Krysten Ritter and Alyla Browne also joined the cast as G.U.N.
Director Rockwell and Maria Robotnik, respectively.
