The blood-red steelbook case features the iconic axe fromthatscene. The Shining’s 4K remaster is truly sublime. It might be the best remaster of any film from its era I’ve watched....

TheFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthteam is working on getting the game’s upcoming PC release optimised for Steam Deck. Sony’s flagship studio is back again with a dazzling game reveal in an original sci-fi universe. She dismisses concerns about people going there and never returning as superstition, and casts caution to the wind. We then see her taking off in her Porsche spaceship, and confronting a hulking robotic menace. This marks Naughty Dog’s first game since 2020’sThe Last of Us Part II. Since then, however, things have remained hectic for the studio, even outside of this project....

The game’s director is excited about incorporating elements of the early 1900s, including horses and knife fights. Mafia III, meanwhile, was set in the late 1960s. “We’ve never had the player riding on horseback before! Developers from Hangar 13 visited Sicily to get a firsthand look and feel for the island and its culture. There’s real grit to these older, more traditional weapons,” Cox said. Alongside a flurry of game announcements, an interview with Sega president Shuji Utsumi. So began Utsumi’s long association with Sega that continues today. Utsumi:When I joined, Sega was more in defensive mode. It was trying to focus more on cost-cutting, controlling the budget, sticking to the current plan. Google was getting into the cloud gaming market, Microsoft was starting to push Game Pass. They were trying to control costs. I [had been] involved with smaller developers at other game companies developing romance games for female audiences....

It’s about constantly pushing forwards, with the goalkeeper essentially becoming a mid-fielder when on the offence. In reverse, the goalie is described as like the boss at the end of a level. That resilience feeds into the setting too. This is a positive future where “the world is going in a better direction”....

Wargaming has built a gaming empire on the multiplayer experience. Retrieving this rare element are the Hunters: hulking mechs designed to resemble real-world animals. “Our Hunters have personality,” he says. They’re not just a piece of metal with a gun; they are true characters." Despite acting like Overwatch-esque heroes, these Hunters are more like Godzilla than Genji.
