However, you won’t be able to hunt Mizutsune until you meet a few requirements.

Tempered Mizutsune may start appearing in Scarlet Forest once you hit Hunter Rank 41.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Mizutsune attacks and counters

Mizutsune has two states: normal and enraged.

Mizutsune uses the forest’s waterways to get around. Look for chances to use rocks and branches to damage it while it travels.

Mizutsune elemental weaknesses

Mizutsune weak points

That’s it.

The weak point isn’t even Mizutsune’s head.

You have to aim at the snout or open mouth for it to count as a weak point strike.

Ranged weapons, such as the bow, can pop incoming bubbles before they get too close.

Mizutsune’s attacks are powerful, and their frenzied tail smash can almost one-shot you if it connects.

Uth Duna is the better option of the two, though, as it has higher damage protection overall.

Whatever you choose, it’s a good idea to equip at least one ranged or high mobility weapon.

If you mount a Mizutsune, focus on damaging the head.
