Finding every butterfly inAssassin’s Creed Shadowswill unlock a whole side quest line with its own assassination targets.
Be warned - this guide does containspoilers.
She’s also quite close to the Ornament Vendor.
To save you time though, we’ve listed all of the butterfly locations down below!

We take a closer look at each butterfly’s location further along in this guide.
Head to the middle bridge south-west ofOsaka Castleand Nishinomaru Garden.
There you’ll find the butterfly on a tree near the bridge.
Collecting this butterfly will also cause you to collect a note about a kidnapped child.
You’ll also collect a clue that will create ‘The Butterfly Collector’ section on the Objective Board.
You’ll be able to spot the butterfly on a tree near a bush and a lantern.
It’s at this point that you should collect the final clue alongside the butterfly.
Head in this direction and keep your eyes out for a shrine.
(If you’re having trouble finding the shrine, keep an eye out for a Torii Gate.)
It’s just north of the bridge leading to the Fishermen’s District.
The butterfly should be on one sitting between two of the stable buildings.
Yup, that’s right - you’ve just unlocked a bunch of side quests.
Due to this, we’ve included them in the guide for the main quest they’re connected to.
Should you kill or spare the Gamemaker in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
This conversation actually contains three dialogue options.
The first just offers different dialogue lines.
The final dialogue choice is the important one though - will you kill or spare the Gamemaker?
(You have just done a murder.)
For this reason, you’re free to pick whichever decision suits you best.
