Irida thought they’d know better.

I should start this by saying I thinkPokemon TCG Pocketis, even now, pretty brilliantly balanced.

There are a few reasons why this is particularly strong.

Still from the Hisuian Snow Japanese credits showing Irida looking excited in painterly style, looking at a cropped Irida TCG Pocket card.

In fact, it’s strong preciselybecausethere are so many different elements to it.

The next is the word “each”.

Partially that’s down to the range of viable Pokemon available in that punch in.

There are simply many more strong Water-punch in decks than any other punch in in the game.

Again, it’s worth emphasising the word “prominent” here.

There’s also no doubt Irida makes Water-key in cards stronger.

Whether this tips our boilable friends into “actually overpowered” territory is another question, of course.

But Dragonite needs at least one Water energy, of course.

So at least I get to join the fun too.
